Apple Announces October 18 ‘Unleashed’ Event

0

Apple announced their digital only October ‘Unleashed’ event today, scheduled to take place on October 18 at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time at the Steve Jobs Theatre on the Apple Park Cupertino, California campus.

The event is expected to focus on M1 (possibly M2?) MacBook announcements with rumors suggesting the 14 and 16-inch MacBook Pro models will have a new thinner bezel, larger display design. We’ll also likely find out when MacOS Monterey will launch and we’re crossing our fingers for at least an M1X version of the Mac mini.

Apple will stream the event live on their website, as well as on YoutTube, and on Apple TV through the Apple TV App.

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference will kick off online June 7

Apple recently announced that their annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will kick off on June 7 through 11, in an all-online format due to COVID concerns.

WWDC21 offers developers insight into the future of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS. The WWDC annual conference is also an opportunity for developers to collaborate with other programmers, ask questions, learn about new technologies and submit their Swift Playground to the Swift Student Challenge. Winners receive WWDC21 outerwear and a pin set.

Last year’s online conference was held during the early months of the COVID pandemic and broke participation records. WWDC20 introduced app clips and widgets, new SwiftUI capabilities, more customizable apps with Mac Catalyst, the launch of an online version of the App Store Lab, new levels of Privacy Transparency and a number of other useful developer features.

Submissions for the WWDC21 Swift Student Challenge are open now through April 18.
